Yes, I see that buzz spreading around (and I’ll edit in the link; thanks for being polite about link-dropping.)

That experiment looks promising. And challenging. Getting social media up and running is, to me, a bigger challenge than keywords-and-backlinks SEO…the latter is so dependent on stats, numbers, algorithms. The former is psychology. I hope it works!

From what I can tell, deviantART puts the link on a different page, but the link is still followable. While it does not carry as much weight as a link directly on a main deviantART page, it still counts to some degree. One of the reasons deviantART works is that it is FOCUSED. Squidoo, as a whole, is not. The recently released GoodVeg magazine is one attempt at creating a focused, socially-spreadable Squidoo site not dependent on SEO traffic.
