I make over $1000/month on Squidoo, and my goal now is to diversify. It’s not great income, but my websites and blogs don’t monetize worth squat.

I don’t have much patience for backlink building or promotion. So for me, Squidoo is the best platform, since a Tweet or a few links from my other lenses is usually sufficient to start some search traffic within an hour or so of publish. That was also true for me on Hubpages before “Pending” status was added to new hubs.

I agree with you that Hubscore — or Squidoo levels — are totally irrelevant, an on-site game that has no relevance to our visitors or the rest of the web. What matters is visitors and conversions. We all find slightly different ways to be successful in those two things.

Regarding revenue sharing sites in general, I just don’t they’re a great strategy for building long-term passive income any more. More I use them to build backlinks to my own sites. I think my hubscore has dropped because of all the links I have inserted into my hubs pointing to my own sites, but hubscore is irrelevant to me and it is nice to see my sites getting a traffic boost from visitors coming from Hubpages, as well as the Google ranking boost.

The only other site I use besides Hubpages is Infobarrel. They have a more generous rev share and they don’t do any of this idling or WIP business, but it takes more time and backlinking to get IB articles to rank.

Good luck with Zujava. I took one look at that site and ran away. It seems overrun with “mommy” topics and if you want to write about something more sophisticated, you will feel out of place. Recipes are an exception. It’s unclear how search engines will treat articles on Zujava given it’s current slant. I don’t think that was the intention of the site’s creators, but it is what it is now. A casual visitor probably wouldn’t regard it as a reliable source of information unless they needed kids’ halloween costumes or kids’ birthday party ideas. Maybe the gardening niche writers will come on board and help even things out.

Wizzley seems to have attracted more diverse talent.

At this point I am leaning slightly towards Zujava. Either way, it would take me a while to become proficient enough in the website to be able to do a fair test (I had to get good enough on Hubpages to be competent at creating hubs that get at least some traffic, before I could start to make any meaningful Squidoo comparisons.)

I’d love to see someone who’s been on Wizzley for a while do a test like this.
